The Dying Glow is the debut single on I-AGO Records for Andy and Rupert. The song was written and recorded in two countries, Rupert had created a verse and chorus in Manchester and sent the acoustic guitar and his vocal to Andy in Ballycastle. Andy then wrote what became the first verse and added drums, piano, hammond organ and backing vocals. Roo then addd bass and the final track was mixed and mastered in Ballycastle, without the two sharing studio time together. Rupert is a highly acclaimed actor, writer and director and came up with the vision of creaing the video in the same way. Andy shot footage on his phone in his studio and in various locations in and around Ballycastle and Rupert did the same in Manchester. We would love to know what you think of the final video.
Peter came to write Scarecrow after attending a singer songwriter evening in Ballycastle. Each month the host invites people to write a word and place it into a jar. At the end of the evening she draws from the jar and songwriters take the next month to craft a song including the word or using it as inspiration. Peter took scarecrow and ran with it, turning it into a reflecgive poignant song about mental health, loss and moving on. Our artistic director Janet Bamford took this song and came up with a storyboard that tried to echo the beauty of the music. Andy stepped in as the Scarecrow and Peter the lead. We would love to know what you think of the video.
